In late 1968, Vice Admiral Elmo Zumwalt together
with General Abrams initiated a "SEA Lake Ocean
River Delta Strategy" (SEALORDS)

This stragegy was principally used in the Mekong
Delta region of South Vietnam and was made up
of three primary objectives:

1) Interdiction of men and arms from Cambodia
2) Pacify and hold previous NVA occupied areas
3) Train and turn over assets to the Vietnamese

This video portrays the part that Swift Boats
played in the success of SEALORDS

Areas of Swift Boat operations covered include

o The Ha Tien-Giang Thanh-Vinh Te riverways
o Swift Boat Raiders in the Ca Mau peninsula
o Life on and patrols from the Sea Float Base
o Swift involvement in the Cambodian Incursion
o Turn over of the boats to the South Vietnamese

  • My Dad was Aboard the USS Skagit and the USS Renville,,while aboard the USS Skagit he was a part of ''Operation Double Eagle" and landed many Marines and Supply's under Enemy Fire..He Drove and was a gunner in Mike Boats..and other Boats...He Did 4 Tours in all in Vietnam..He Died In 1986 of a Heart Attack...
