actually the taskbar is a plasmoid and it can be added after the install, it was left out of the install as you can still use the XP taskbar while it is running. the xp taskbar is a little more reliable in windows. I suggest closing explorer.exe before using the taskbar plasmoid.

It lacks functions like a task bar, a system tray and such, but the overall performance is pretty good.
