@Tuathalful howard had to change his views on gst when it came out how fucked the economy was. so at least he had the HONESTY to say ive changed my mind and im going to have an election on the topic. he didnt do what keating did and promise tax cuts then whoops suddenly realised after the 93 election he couldnt afford them. keating didnt have the honesty to call an election over a change of policy

@Tuathalful LOL keating was the one who OPENED the immigration detention centres. labor have been NO different in their demonising of asylum seekers.
howard said there would be no gst because labor lied during the 96 campaign and said the budget was in the black he came to power and it came out that actually the budget was in the red for millions for that year alone.

Well said. The ALP is supposed to bow and scrape over insulation and yet it was alright to have the AWB scandal, children overboard, utegate and all the other shit the liberal party has done. Specifically in the utegate affair, Malcolm Turnball argued that both Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan should resign. The liberal party hounded labor for weeks about it. The day after it was found to be a hoax Turnball starts complaining that labor was deflecting attention away from the real issues. Hypocrites!

This prick is the most disgusting and dishonest PM we've ever had. He lied his arse off and was caught several times despite his desperate wiggling. Now Phoney Tony follows in Mr. "there'll never be a GST" Howard's fottsteps. Howard didn't just give up on a few promises or change his mind; the prick lied knowing full well his ideological commitment to shifting the burden of tax down the socioeconomic scale, or his devisive racist scapegoating and demonisation of asylum seekers....
