@Jimed756 They no longer manually aim the radar, it the radar is now aimed automatically. Anyway sea sparrow is being replaced by evolved sea sparrow missile ESSM.

Nato Sea Sparrow Missile System (NSSMS). Surface to air. Before integrating with the mast mounted radar the director used to be manually driven. What I mean is that a sailor stood outside and moved the director around by hand with a big set of bicycle handlebars. Short life span on that job!!!

@Jimed756 Yep, but now we use a new launch system. Sombody takes the missile manually, then directs it and launches it by striking the back with a hammer.
its much more cost-effective, at least if you have more sailors then missiles on board.
