If you take 80s cartoons too seriously, they can really mess you up as a kid.

  • Larry Hama created the Marvel GI Joe comic book series based on his original ideas for a Nick Fury: Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off series called "FURY FORCE." Without the comic book, there would've been no cartoons, no movie, no nothing, just some silly toys. Hama was a brilliant writer and the comics are 100 times better than the cartoons or the movie. If the studios just stick to the comic book storyline they'll make better films and animation.

  • Wow. I didn't know that. That's actually a great little piece of information! Like the first Street Fighter movie originally having been a GI Joe movie script!

  • You are making fun of my favorite cartoon as a kid. Look at the garbage they show today. No Bugs Bunny, no Woodywoodpecker, no Tom and Jerry! Everyone is so worried about what the kids watch today. Hey I turned out OK.

  • That show was awesome, if anything sucked it was the horrible movie they made in 2009.

  • You are clearly a Cobra agent. Your evil propaganda for your facist fucking commie regime will not work!!! Hahahahaha GO JOE!!!

  • Don't listen to this guy! He's a Cobra agent!

  • Oh, you forgot one more reason the GI Joe cartoon sucked. The completely ignored the epic, iconic Snake Eyes/Scarlett romantic storyline from the Marvel comic and tried to pair her with Duke, who was nothing but a shallow clone of Hawk. Larry Hama wrote this great story for Snake Eyes and Scarlett that had depth and substance, but the cartoon trashed it for no reason other than Snake Eyes can't talk. There was no reason given for why she'd be with Duke other than him being the team leader.

  • Thet's the reason the GI Joe comic was so great! Hasbro approached Marvel about doing a comic book tie-in for their new line of action figures, but no writer at Marvel wanted the job of coming up with a storyline just to sell toys. Luckily, Hama already had his own idea for a military-themed comic(Fury Force) and simply applied his storyline to GI Joe. Hawk's storyline was based on Nick Fury, and Snake Eyes and Scarlett's storyline was based on two characters code-named "Spook" and "Shadow."

  • GET OUT OF MY HEAD LONDON!

I thought the same exact thing as well.

Years later when the Columbia exploded I was a little miffed that an episode of Cowboy Bebop was somewhat ruined.
