  • The discovery wasn't released until 1930. The first place it started was in Fort Riley - Kansas in March 1918.

  • @666CaoCao Maybe the technology in 1900 was evolved, but they couldn't create an influenza virus, because they knew bacteria, but not these viruses. It's only in 1930's that they were discovered. And for your information, it started in China and it was an avian virus that was mixed with a human influenza virus. It touched Europe where the WW1 raged.Spain, which was a neutral country, could speak of this disease first. This is why that flu was called "Spanish".Why do you think the USA created it?

  • @ajgolfer1 Wow!!! you under-estimate the technolgy of that time immensely. Fox news etc seems to have that effect on people. Check out Nikola Tesla, he is just one example of highly advanced technolgy pre 1900.

  • @666CaoCao started in the usa when you say made you sound retarded like we had the lab technology in 1918 to produce this

  • There was an outbreak of the Ebola virus in the mid 1990's and that was horrible. It was the worst and a short lived outbreak in Africa. The virus inflicted severe pain and bleeding out and patients would die within a few days to a week after contracting it. There are reported cases in some places of Africa but no outbreak. The cause is still unclear. But if you read the book THE HOT ZONE, it's really good. It's about the outbreak and the conspiracy behind it.

  • Apparently this strain of influenza was as strong as what the swine flu is today. Even though we have medical and scientific advancement , we would fnot survive a pandemic if it were to spread. Each year the CDC has to come up with a vaccine to rid or minimize the spread of these infectious disease. But its hard to do that when the virus mutates and the vaccine does not work.

  • It was made in USA but labled 'spanish' to blame Franco
