This week on ecorazzi's Good Gossip: Russell Brand & Ozzy Osbourne's Big Announcement, Justin Bieber Adopts & Ellen Degeneres Is Opening A Healthy Restaurant
Hi I'm Whitney Lauritsen and welcome to another episode of ecorazzi's Good Gossip, where you can get the scoop without feeling guilty
What do Russell Brand & Ozzy Osbourne have in common aside from being crazy musicians with accents? They've both gone vegan thanks to the revolutionary documentary Forks Over Knives. Brand announced it to the world via Twitter, saying: I'm now vegan, goodbye eggs, hello Ellen. And Ozzy said on TV that he's doing it to get healthy. Bravo boys - does this mean you'll be doing some naked PETA ads? Oh Ozzy, I sure hope not...
If you want to join the growing list of veg rock stars, long term plant eater Paul McCartney is here to help. He just released his own vegetarian cookbook. Perfect for Cranking up some Beatles tunes and getting your compassionate cooking on!
Or, plan a trip to LA to be first in line for Ellen Degeneres' upcoming vegan restaurant. Looks like veganism has become the hottest trend - come on, give up meat and dairy, everyone's doing it!
Natalie Portman may not give in to the pressure to be 100% vegan, but she does care about children's health, especially now that she's a new mom. She recently wrote a letter to LAUSD commending them for their nutritious, mostly plant-based school lunches, which won them a prize from PCRM. Now she knows that in the off chance her award-winning acting career fails and she has to send her son to the public school, at least he won't become obese and diabetic.
In other animal-loving celeb news, Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez adopted a dog, even though the actress/pop star already has 5. Apparently they were in Canada for her tour and she got homesick, so she swung by a shelter and picked up another pup. Kinda an odd reaction Either she's really compassionate or she sees dogs as interchangeable forms of emotional support...either way, that's one lucky pooch!
People who change a core element of their belief system because it's a "trend" are dicks. You should be fully informed of any risks of doing something and actually believe in what you are doing. I also don't quite understand how this is "good gossip"...

@anonihamster "Animals don't care why you stop eating them. They just care that you do." If someone's choice contributes to the reduction of suffering, who cares what their reasons are for doing it? I'm vegan and I think we should support each other in this compassionate journey, not judge our reasons behind it.. imho.

@anonihamster I agree - people should always look at the big picture and fully research something before making big decisions in their lives. My comment on switching to veganism simply because it's trendy was tongue in cheek.
