Who got in trouble and why?

Is it possible for Global Resorts GRN (Global Resorts Network), World Ventures (WorldVentures) and Resorts 360 (Resorts360) to avoid the slap?

The relationship between Global Resorts Network and Gold Crown Resort has spelled problems for Alfonso Morales, Chuck Tomlin and GRN Affiliates. As Global Resorts Network faces competition from a U S owned and based membership company, they desperately need a product that is more user friendly to Americans. The Gold Crown Resort vacation club membership they sell is designed for the members Gold Crown Resort has overseas. Global Resorts Network does not have control over the memberships usability. Gold Crown Resorts has more members living overseas and will continue to strive to make the membership a good choice in their core markets and the United States is not their core market.

The competition faced by Global Resorts Network does not have the problems GRN faces with Gold Crown Resort. They have been able to influence the U S based and owned membership company they work with to make improvements to the membership that were requested by their network marketing members.

Unlike Global Resorts Network and Gold Crown Resort, the U S based membership sold by their competitor offers one week condo stays starting at $149 every week of the year. They have also offered some prices below $149, but they dont publicize those offers because they are not offered every week.

Experts are sure Global Resorts Network would love to offer the $149 deals, but they say their hands are tied because they dont have enough influence over Gold Crown Resort. If Global Resorts Network was able to offer more hot weeks at $298 a week, that would help, but remember that the majority of Gold Crown Resort members dont live in the United States. Its just good business for Gold Crown Resort to cater to their membership base rather than to the desires of Global Resorts Network.

In an attempt to compete, Global Resorts Network has done what they can to keep from loosing more of their market share in the home based travel business industry.
Since they cannot change Gold Crown Resort policies, they have done what they can do with their compensation plan.

A few months after a competitor started paying affiliates a commission on their first sale, Global Resorts Network decided to do the same. When their competition started to offer payment plans, Global Resorts Network decided to do the same thing.

The competition announced they would not deduct a fee from affiliates when their customers pay by credit card. Global Resorts Network was charging affiliates $600 when their customers paid for a Gold Crown Resort membership when their customers paid by credit card. Global Resorts Network was unable or unwilling to match the offer made by the competition, but they did decrease the fees they charge.

The actions of Global Resorts Network over the last few months indicate that they agree with their major competitor as they play follow the leader. They agree that affiliates should be paid on the first sale. Global Resorts Network agrees that Payment plans will produce more sales, and they agree that they were overcharging affiliates when their new customers paid by credit card.

Alfonso Morales, Chuck Tomlin and Global Resorts Network continue to play follow the leader. Perhaps they even realize that the right price point for the membership actually is $1998. Even if they could change the selling price, Global Resorts Network would still be at a disadvantage because of their Gold Crown Resort membership.
