@skarletsky Just because the "Bible teaches it" is not a good reason to subjugate women. And it DOES stop women from having authority because it says she should remain silent in church and ONLY get her teaching from her husband.
The Bible doesn't "suggest" that men are better suited to church leadership. It outright denies women the possibility.
If you cannot see how that is unequal and wrong, you're brainwashed.
Your religion is evil and if your promote it, so are you.
@skarletsky Referring to the event that signals fertility as "unclean" is silly and untrue. Women are NOT considered equal in Christianity and in the OT could be stoned merely on the word of a man for supposedly not being a virgin on her wedding night. She could also be stoned for being raped. If she wasn't stoned for being raped, she was forced to marry her rapist. The NT doesn't change things since Jesus tells his followers to follow all the law.
@ciaochowbella ...... A woman leading the church is not permissible, this is because the bible teaches it to be so, this doesnt stop women from having authority in the churhc is simply suggests that leadership of this kind is better suited to men.
@ciaochowbella i am a born again Christian and i have read the bible. First off the old testament refers to a women as unclean when shes on her period. second just as a woman is no better than a man a man is no better than a women they are equal but made for different purposes and have different talents which compliment each gender...
@skarletsky Christianity DOES oppress women. From the OT to the NT, women are seen as property to be used, sold or disposed of at the whim of men. It calls women unclean and declares that women are not to be over men in any capacity. Most denominations refuse to allow women to be clergy and ALL see women as inferior to men.
You have not actually read the Bible if you think Christianity doesn't oppress women. It oppresses women by word, deed and doctrine.
@melodyiskey I disagree. Every major world religion, including Christianity, shows women's roles to be different from men's, and their status to be submissive.
@FITNAFITNA5 The Quran doesn't mention FGM. It's mentioned in the Hadith.
And it is not condemned.
In fact, it is remarked upon approvingly by Muhammed. He exhorted his followers not to cut too much. This clearly is not forbidding the act and instead is an instruction of how to proceed. When a holy text give instruction of this nature, it will be seen by some followers as holy mandate.
1) It seems a bit ironic for a Christian to pray for the "deliverance of women" from oppression when Christianity is an institution that oppresses women in scripture, doctrine and practice.
2) You said, "ALL countries that oppress women have many troubles, more than other countries." Please name those countries that you think don't oppress women. I don't know of any.

@melodyiskey Two things....

2) You said, "ALL countries that oppress women have many troubles, more than other countries." Please name those countries that you think don't oppress women. I don't know of any.
