How do you know what you know? In this short video, we examine another fundamental assumption we take for granted every moment of our lives. As we'll see, atheism can't provide a basis for this presupposition, leaving the atheist in an irrational position. The fear of the Lord IS the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7).

  • Atheism is NOT A WORLD VEIW!!!!! it is a disbelief in the claim that there is a god. How many time do we have to tell you this? Atheistic Evolution? Evolution make NO claim there is no god. It makes no claim as to how the universe started. It makes no claim as to how life started. It simply explains the variety of life we find on the earth. Please stop lying.

  • @bogusnachos According to the dictionary, "worldview" is defined as "1. The overall perspective from which one sees and interprets the world. 2. A collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or a group." You are playing with semantics--you do NOT believe God created the universe nor is there a God nor did he diversify life. To disbelieve in God is to believe there is no God. Same difference. Please stop hiding behind word games ans semantics.

  • @JesusIsUrSaviour I'm not hiding behind anything. Atheism is not a worldview as you said in you pathetic video. Neither of your definitions fits atheism. You are a liar, please stop lying.

  • @bogusnachos I suggest you revisit a dictionary for a definition of atheism and worldview. Have the courage to at least own up to what you believe and stop hiding in the darkness. "There is no darkness nor shadow of turning where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves" (Job 34:22).

  • @JesusIsUrSaviour You are confused enough about what you believe, you shouldn't be telling me what I believe. Not accepting a belief that a god created the universe is not a worldview. I suggest you stick explaining your own beliefs and stop knock down strawmen.

  • How many times are you going to trot out the same tired, worthless arguments before you try to actually understand evolution? I want to be there on the day you finally wake up..

  • @JesusIsUrSaviour

I'll concede and not quibble with you on these points. But to the bigger issue, we're in the same place. Why do we need anything outside of our senses and mental abilities to perceive and know anything?

  • @monitajb Two fallacies: a false analogy AND the fallacy of reification. First, your are endowing an inanimate object like a scale with the power of perception. A scale perceives NOTHING. It measures weight. An intelligent being must then give this measurement meaning. You further compare human perception to the photosynthetic reactions of plants. This is a false analogy. Perception is NOT the same as REACTION. Perception denotes apprehending via the senses and cognition.

  • @JesusIsUrSaviour

I imagine this is the crux: "you would have no ground to judge material as you are merely material."

To which I simply would say, why not? A scale can perceive weight, a fly can perceive velocity, a plant can perceive light.

Do you think a soul is required for abstract thought? I see no reason to think so. If you do, I would be happy to discuss that with you.

  • @monitajb As a materialist, how do you know anything? In both of your examples--software and chemical reactions--my question is, how do you KNOW these are so if you are merely a slave to these reactions? If you are really a materialist, you would have no source of epistemology OUTSIDE of your own senses, and thereby you would have no ground to judge material as you are merely material. God's word provides a rational basis for such, but your position here is self-refuting and arbitrary.
