This will be the same for direct brain downloads. Such technology would accelerate research, rather than removing its necessity, as simply downloading information cannot expand human technologies; humans that understand and use those downloads do the wheel did not invent the car, humans did!
How will Cybernetics become advanced enough to develop technologies such as "brain downloads" without people who have studied and researched to develop them? There will always be a need for people to push the boundaries of technology
