  • I had cancer called Neuroblastoma stage 4 just three months after my 5th birthday. It was the size of a football on the left side of my stomach. It destroyed my left kidney. I also had chemotherapy, bone marrow, and stem cell transplant. I had to stay in the hospital for a month when I had the stem cell transplant. I have been cancer free ever since 2001. Today, I am a young adult and doing really well, and in good shape.

  • Rip Jason C. Williams

  • Registered to be bone marrow / stem cell donor the first of this year. Only time will tell if I get the call to help someone.

  • On apheresis for 6 hours? Without taking a leak?

  • Thank you so much for your feedback, and this was really helpful for me to know. After doing my research with bone marrow transplants I learned that it may not always save a life depending what complications the receiver may experience. I've also watched Adrian Sudbury on youtube experiencing his journey of leukemia and his tranpslant and unfortunately he passed away as well. I've also learned even when people get bone marrow transplant they can get leukemia or whatever cancer they had back.

  • @munecabrava211 In a bone marrow transplant the stem cells are taken from the bone marrow, In a stem cell transplant the stem cells are taken from the circulating blood . Complications after the transplant could be his body rejecting the transplanted cells , Organ failure ..kidney etc , all of the chemo is hard on the body, Pneumonia or any other infection as the immune system is low until normal blood counts are reached . The risks are are the same in both.

  • @MultiAnimalman

You're one of the lucky ones.

  • Is a stem cell transpant riskier than a regular bone marrow transplant? This is what I heard, and after watching this video I went to the website afterwards, and this poor guy passed away from complications after the transplant. Will a bone marrow transplant possibly have the same risks for the receiver? I'm just curious please I appreciate your feedback if anyone responds.

  • @MultiAnimalman :) You did the same for me.

  • @mratomix

    hi mratomix

that comment you sent me was really nice, thanks for the comment it made me feel proud and happy

  • @MultiAnimalman ahh man, I don't even know what to say. You are a lucky person and I hope your story continues to be as happy as possible.

  • From bone marrow transplantation to regenerative medicine is the very much best policy in the reality world. You should be able to absolutely do it. I start all perfection part again from then.

    現実世界に於いては骨髄移植から再生医療こそが最大最高最良の方策だ。絶対にやれるべきなんだ。あの時から何もかも完全部分やり直す。

  • Sometimes even the best plans don't work out. R.I.P. guy

  • @KraftyKatsy p.s. I wanted to tell you that you can contact me any time on here if you need to talk. I wish your father well & pray al will go well.

  • @IonnysBellaVita Hi lonny? My name is Kat. I read your comments & just wanted to try to reassure you. Everyone responds to transplants differently. Where one may get post transplant infections another won't. Some people develop graph vs host disease. Thats when the body rejects it to different degrees. I had my transplant almost 6 mths ago now. I have some graph vs host but with meds I think I'll be fine.Alot of people have no problems at all. I know ur scared but try to think positive for him.

  • Dr.Avneesh Gupte, the Neurosurgeon at Noble Hospital performing the procedure has been encouraged by results in Cerebral Palsy patients as well. “We are fortunate to be able to offer the treatment because not every hospital is able to perform these types of transplants. You must have the specialized medical equipment and specially trained doctors and nurses”.
