This is a Troy Bilt weed wacker 29 cc four stroke engine being converted to operate in an RC aircraft. I am using a simple home made electronic ignition with a mechanical advance tied in with the throttle. The propeller is a 16 x 8.

I will be installing this into a Lazy Bee aircraft with an 8 foot wingspan.

  • The muffler is part of a 1 1/4" lavatory drain. I machined an aluminum adapter to bolt onto the engine with a couple of tight fitting plumbing o-rings to hold the tubing in any position. The end is pluged with a hole drilled for a short piece of 1/2" tubing. Nothing special but it works and I think it has a neat sound.

  • Yes, Heavy. That is why I am putting it on a plane with lots of wing area. Almost 18 sq ft. Lazy Bee with an 8 ft wing span.

Not going to be able to use this engine. Leaking oil badly. Found another Troy Bilt with a working mag. Plane nearing completion. Hope to be posting more videos within a month or so.

    Thanks for your interest.
