If you're biased enough, a demagogue can make the most absurdly biased claims and you'll accept them as true. Like Whittle's claim that Obama named his dog to honor his own initials ("B.O."). In fact, "the puppy was named by [the daughters] after their cousins' cat and after [their grandfather's] nickname Diddley; the dog is a namesake of deceased singer Bo Diddley." It's all on the record. But once you've decided to hate, even the most obviously biased claims SOUND true to you.
