Bobby Trendy - "I Order Pizza"

Does he ever!

This is the entirety of Bobby Trendy's "cameo" in "A Slice of Terror," to my knowledge the only film Bobby has been in outside of the "Velvet Mafia" movies. As you can see, he really gives it his all, appearing for all of about a minute and never getting up out of his chair. Though, honestly, if I were sitting in a chair that looked like a giant leopard-print phallus flanked by two golden cats, I don't know if I would want to get up, either.

There's so, so much to study in this clip, despite its short run-time, and I suggest you view it multiple times to be sure you've gotten all of its subtle artistry. Of course, there's the pizza parlor that's obviously just somebody's kitchen and the pizza parlor owner who looks like a reggae fan at a Jimmy Buffet concert. But notice the muscle-bound dude in the background inexplicably checking himself out in the pizza cutter, and the way in which it seems like the guy on the phone and Bobby are having two completely different conversations. In fact, Bobby seems to be on his own planet in this scene, and honestly, I don't blame him. It's probably some sort of coping strategy. Still, it's kind of sad that he can't string a simple sentence together, and ends up sounding like a bad impression of Truman Capote in "Murder by Death."

The hilarious details of the pizza-delivery itself are left as an exercise for the viewer, though I would definitely be remiss if I didn't at least mention the little cringe Bobby throws in while the guy is stooping to get his pizza money. Clearly he's more aware of what a fiasco this is than he's letting on, and to his credit, he gamely soldiers through with his usual verve.

If I have one regret, it's that my editing actually made this seem MORE coherent; I cut out a lengthy scene that goes absolutely nowhere between the two Bobby scenes, leaving you nothing but pure gold. It's simply because I care.

Well the movie is ultra low-budget so there's no true competence involved on any level. It sounds like he's mumbling but he wasn't properly miked either. Bobby can be funny, or we'd never have heard of him.
