even if i could pick as fast as the record guy it wouldnt matter to me. it is not speed that i am shooting for. speed does not make you a great banjo player. and this is an old video i have learned a lot more since then. i dont ever play that song that fast cuz in know it does not sound good like that. we where just having a fun time

Damn good, fellas.

That was hot! And the banjo player had no eyes!

I learned Bluegrass over the summer while working at a summer camp, and this brings back vivid memories. Excellent playing! It's not often that I see musicians simply having fun and playing great music. I'm in an advanced music class at my school (IB Music HL - you can look it up) and the majority of the class doesn't have this kind of talent. It's really nice to hear this.

what are the chords to this song?

I have that tab from Ross Nickerson's Beginning The Five-String Banjo lessons. It comes with a CD & DVD. I highly recommend it if you are a new or intermediate player. His rendition of Blackberry Blossom is almost identical to this clip and a really nice version. Good luck with your pickin'.

How long did it take you to get that fast? I've been practicing for 3 weeks an I'm just half your speed.

@potentialavalanche hey man, it doesnt take very long. but dont worry to much about speed it will come naturally. Concentrate on timing, tone and technique when ur first starting. And honestly i cant stand to watch this video cuz its so old....lolol.
but we where just having fun.
