Today I was a bit bored at 12:45 AM so I decided to get my pulse oximeter probe off my toe and mess around a bit. Here are the results of said messing around / experimenting.

First I try a REUSABLE probe on my ear, where they really honestly are not designed for ear use. Though there are REUSABLE ear probes. Then I went for my Nose which worked quite well and accurate but again was not comfortable. Then I went for my tongue which I am just going to draw the line here and call it TONGUE OF FAIL. Pulse Oximeter + Tongue = FAIL

  • I am just watching this again. I'm extremely bored, and have really been thinking about pulse oximeters. This video is the only video along with ur other two vids that have eased my bordom.

    :)

  • lol thats good

  • I can't quit watching this. Its awsome.

You are awsome. I love it.

LOL I sure hope they let u keep the pulse ox so I can have it. I'm desperate 4 that.

  • lol we will see :P

  • Thanks for explaining this more fully! As I mentioned, I didn't know this much about the pulse oximeter, and I certainly had no idea of the differences related to veterinary medicine. This has been quite informative.

You reminded me of Neil Armstrong when the sensor was on your nose. "One small step for man; one giant leap for mankind."

  • lmao at the neil armstrong connection there. nice

indeed a lot of people dont see behind the scenes of vet med because most take their dog in, the dog gets walked into a dark hallway leading to the operating room and you know nothing of it till your dog is back out of the hall like normal a day or two iater. little do you know most of the equipment is simply shrunk down / miniaturized human equipment.

  • hey alin, i liked the segment on pulse ox sites,

about veterinary OR equipment, I have been "behind the scenes" at the vet hospital to see the OR and the "recovery room" which is just a room next to the OR with kennels, the OR itself has windows viewing the caged area like an intensive care unit, the table is just stainless steel table that has a ventilator at one end and had some rolling "hospital" procedure tables around and a sterilizer. hello medicaldud, havent heard from you lately

  • Watching this again.

  • YES. I'll be praying to my medical gods that this works.

    LOL

I just hope it does, cause my MNS has gotten a lot worse even sence this morning.
