Actually, cloud storage is quite expensive when you start storing more than a couple of gigabytes. My Nikon D7000, which is a 16 MP prosumer DSLR, requires around 20 MB per RAW file, so library containing around 5000 photos will require around 100 GB of storage.

Amazon S3 or Dropbox charge around $100 per year for 100 GB. A 4 TB 2-drive RAID storage from G-Tech (which is really expensive) is $400. It will pay itself after 4 years and you get fast access and a lot more space.

Regardless, this is real world stills and video workflow. Personally dislike Apple but when money becomes a 2nd tier issue, burn some cash on Apple.
