@EXSoldierrity my wife learn it in art Institute in Moscow =) but this varian is very simple, u just need some paint for silk (for batik, may be acrilic) and white t-shirt

Exactly, we call Batik just the technique with the wax as reserve. That traditional indonesian batik. =)

And there are another kinds of Art on silk - silk painting, cold batik, many sorts of shibori (though on the West it's called tie-dye). And all of them are amazing and special.

i know this art is everywere in the world..

but from what i know the name "batik" only been use in South east asia...

especially in indonesia and Malaysia...

so i just weird when rusia people also call batik as "batik "

@EXSoldierrity Excuse me that i've interrupted your conversation with SovGVD, but i have to say there are lots of gifted and amazing batik artists in Russia and very powerful and interesting school (in wide meaning).

By the way - this video just demonstrates SHIBORI technique. =)
