I know he didn't die, but what I don't understand is why there is no follow up. There is nothing in the following episode or anything like that, so were people supposed to think at the time of its airing?

He probably fucked up his re appearance, got injured or something. I think he has planned his typical reapear as a fire fighter and messed it up, so they cut out the scene.

but I bet the spectators could speak up about what happened, they would not have driven away from the site without knowing or being told there was a dead body. that would be very messed up, if they let those people leave thinking he was dead.
