It's a great piece of music performed by a great artist. Ella Mae has a way of making things swing.
But, you still have to put this in the historical context of its' time. The U.S. was engaged in WW II and we weren't even on the upswing yet, the Battles of the Coral Sea and Midway were behind us and Guadalcanal had proven the Pacific was going to be a tough fight. So for the ladies to promise to wait "til Hades froze" was important.
