I have 2 Rohloff hubs, and I am amazed and impressed by the engineering and quality that went into this hub.

@Pkerce I just think it's cool to see what all goes into this hub. when you ride one its easy to forget all the engineering that went into it. And to remember how it goes together.... pretty impressive!

I followed a link on wikipedia where I read that no Rohloff speedhub has ever failed. It this is true then what point is there in rebuilding this one?

@Pkerce: I took apart my hub to satisfy my own curiousity. No parts replacement or rebuilding is taking place. Rohloff makes the most advanced product of its kind. You hear more about 100K+ mile/km hubs than you do about rebuilds or problems. However, no mechanical device is free from maintenance or occasional problems. Buying a Rohloff (assuming you like it) really is a lifetime investment that will pay for itself.
