Jeff Tweedy jokes about "Jeff Tweedy Day" in St. Louis (LouFest 2010)

A few hours before Wilco's Jeff Tweedy played a solo set at LouFest (08/29/10). Mayor Francis Slay proclaimed it "Jeff Tweedy Day" in St. Louis. During the set, Tweedy told the crowd: "The mayor just gave me a proclamation that it's Jeff Tweedy day. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life." Everyone laughed, as he said he's thankful for the honor anyway and said he hoped Mayor Slay wasn't here (ostensibly because of the "stupidest thing I've ever heard" comment). Then he added: "So none of you have to go to work tomorrow. Typically 'Jeff Tweedy Day' is a three-day weekend."

Man, put some age and gray hair on Tweedy and he'll look a lot like Jerry Garcia. The man has put on a few pounds lately. Still a great musician, though. Tweedy Rocks!
