JediASU: Fourth Quarter 4th Down Stop of Georgia

ASU Defense's 4th quarter 4th down stop of UGA. This play starts with Vontaze Burfict anticipating the UGA play and bumping a very well MISPLACED ref. To quote Orson at EDSBS:

"V is for Vontaze. Vontaze Burfict, ASU linebacker, was so terrifying on Saturday night he got away with tossing an official into Georgias offensive line. We still have no idea what happened, but Burfict rushed forward, pitched the field judge into the Bulldog line, and then stood there as a shocked official tossed a flag at him. More baffling still: the officials conferred, and then picked up the flag, presumably terrified of what Burfict would do if they actually penalized him. The way he played against Georgia, it would have taken riot police to subdue him (and hes just a freshman. Yay you, Sun Devils. Have fun watching that explode for three years.)"

Vontaze flies over the O-Line to disrupt UGA FB Fred Munzenmaier, further allowing the ASU D to hold.

K, all of you are idiots. Vontaze pushed the ref intentionally to stop the play, his defense wasn't ready. It was one of the smartest plays I've ever seen.

I'm not a fan of either team and I think that is total BS. So the offense is allowed a safeguard from the linebackers for 1-2 seconds between when the whistle is blown and when the ref arrives behind the LBs? I don't think so. The ref was misplaced .
