haha I totally see what you mean at first I read the comment before it zoomed in but yeah he has to keep the ring and pinky bent and touching most of the time

Well then I suppose that's what he was taught. It's not "proper grip" for your fingers to be nearly straight, but I suppose what you're taught is what you're taught.

Nice solo there, but the left hand needs worked on technique; fingers are too straight.
