I want to get into this field too, but I think the balance between consiousness and ai should be balanced. I see lectures on one, but not a combination of both. I think it won't feel natural if the robot can think but isn't aware of it's self.

The problem is that its very difficult to quantitatively talk about consciousness. There's no way to tell if consciousness is even real in anyone but yourself. Its quite difficult to program something you can't test.

i agree with you in that it would be incredible and just think if you could program an ai to run all the electronic systems in your house like jarvis in iron man

Im only 15, but this is really the most interesting field Ive ever thought about getting into, its so amazing to think one day we might have artificial inteligence to the extent of things from movies and video games, like I Robot, and Cortana from Halo.

Truely amazing.
