@Motorchevytoyota Lmfao.... i was thinking of the same thing lol

@alfamale101 yeah it was a good idea but bad in design.
-
@GMCman82 the 5.7 olds diesel was junk from the start.
-
the military used 6.2's in trucks and even in hummvees. they are good on fuel and have alot of torque, but they ain't no cummins.
-
@gokartsrule lol yeah it was quite common to blow the 5.7 diesel apart. now a 5.7 gas, especially the olds 5.7 is built like a tank. i perfer the olds block because they used a higher nickel content with their cast iron which made it much more durable. but you cant use chevy 5.7 parts like the heads on the olds block, they are actually different.

@offroadingmachine007 What it comes down to with the 6.2s is how you treat them. If you maintain them right and don't beat the shit out of them they run forever. like sunbirdse93 said the parts are cheap and generally easy to find. However they are very slow. You have to acquire a taste for the type of power they deliver, which is a steady pull, but not quick. On the up side i get about 20mpg average in my 6.2

WHY? way to ruin the sound of the diesel...
how do the 6.2's hold up.......one kid tells me they are peices of crap......is he right?

@offroadingmachine007 depends on how you use them. if you dont expect them to match cummins/powerstokes/duramax's and maintian them they will last. they are good on fuel and parts are cheap to maintian them. i like them.

@sunbirdse93 , wait until you have to rebuild or replae the injection pump on it. you'll change your mind on those "cheap" parts...

@NP535overdrive i did replace the injector pump. i got a db2831 4911 (6.5 turbo pump) the pump and 6.5 turbo injectors cost me 950ish. it cost about twice that to change just injectors on a duramax
