The thing that i think is dumb is the bunt fouls, first of all they react before "the foul ball", secondly I, a catcher in college, have never seen a 85-95 mph fastball or even a curveball fouled off that slowly and close to the plate...i find this drill to be a waste of time.

@Catching101 you don't feel it necessary to practice with a mask on? So what happens when you haven't practiced every aspect of the game and when it comes time for a foul ball and you just take off the mask and throw it anywhere, then step on the mask because you didn't practice...this needs to be practiced.

Depends what mask because the hockey style are easy to see through but the classic style come off easier

Why do they practice with their mask off? Also, I assume they would try to get their mask off with a bunted fould ball and one from a full swing. True?

@TheBadger1967 I don't see any reason to practice them with their mask on. They're just going to throw it off anyway and during practice there are usually other players standing around...I don't want a catcher throwing a mask and hitting someone. Correct, you should take your mask off for every play except for a play at the plate.
