my amp already sounds like this..
-
which one analogman nkt or this pedal?
-
@ryoga415 Tons of germanium fuzz pedals, just 95% of them are boutique. Fuzz Factory is germanium for instance.
-
Bought one mainly on the strength of this demo. Thanks Andy!

@cordanscedo Generally, germanium gets crazier when it's colder.

$165 on Amazon, whooo....
Pricey.

@Huntman1394 defo, this one ! i just got it and im in love with it ! and i play exactly that :)
-
yeah, this one stood out to me as well.
The best fuzz pedal i owned was my first (1991) and I recall hating it until I used it in tandem with the amps tube overdrive...I backed the fuzz gain to half(less fizzy) and cranked the level and this made the spattery/sagging quality really smooth and but with a vicious ripple effect on chords, the notes would morph from dark to bright with a warm sustain.
It got stolen after a gig, they could have taken my guitar or other pedals :(

i'm not a big of fuzz boxes, but damn i think my ears need a cigarette after the orgasm they just had listening this great demo
This is by far the juiciest, warmest and most gnarly sounding fuzz demo I've ever heard! I am buying one.
What exactly did Andy mean by the germanium components being sensitive to temperature changes? If I leave my pedalboard overnight in my band's trailer and it gets cold, will it cause damage to the pedal? Or it just won't sound right until back to normal temp?

@cordanscedo - Temperature changes won't damage anything, but germanium pedals will often sound different and respond differently in a cold room vs. a warm room. Just the nature of the beast. Thanks!

so for a strat... to adjust how clean/dirty it is, all you do it fiddle with the volume knob on the guitar itself?
sketchead2 1 year ago
@sketchead2 Oh yeah, that's how people have been doing it for years. It stems from a less sophistsicated time before channel switching and what not. You'd be surprised at how many people don't experiment with their own guitar's controls.
Thanks,
PGS
