Just a snapshot of joyous and spontaneous Mor Lam style worship singing and dance performed at the 10th Anniversary of Crisajack Saytan Chiwit (River of Life Church) in Khon Kaen, Thailand.

Mor Lam is a style of singing that originated in Laos and means "expert singer" because of the singer's ability to ad lib the song to fit the situation. In this case, it was singing to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the church and to praise the Lord Jesus Christ who is becoming known by many Isaan people of Northeast Thailand.

  • SpreadtheFlame.... Sorry.. one thing... "Maw-Lum" ("Maw-Rum" in Thai) doesn't mean "expert singer" ... It literally means "a doctor of dance" .... I guess "expert" could loosely be used but the word "Maw" means "a doctor" ... and "Lum" comes from the word "Dtin-Lum" ("Dtin-Rum" in Thai) meaning "dance".

  • Excellent stuff.
