To celebrate the release of celebrated author and editor Teressa Toten's collection, Piece by Piece: Stories About Fitting Into Canada (Penguin Group Canada), Small Print stagged a Storytelling Mash-Up. A writing contest for high school students organized ahead of time, asking them to contribute their own 500 word, 'Piece By Piece' stories. Winners were divided into groups. Each group worked with such award-winning contributors to the anthology as Linda Granfield, Mahtab Narsimhan, Richard Poplak and Rui Umezawa. They devised a way to combine their five winning stories into a single presentation. And performed them! Also on the bill was a sound clash featuring teenage DJs from different communities across the city. Hosted by noted author Joseph Kertes.
