Music for me is formost music. If I want "intelligence", I read a book. That does not mean music without a message is not intelligent. It takes a mastermind to come up with a great melody or a great line of words like in almost any of James Taylors songs. When for example a political message is more important than the song itself the message will draw focus from the music, then whats the point in making it a song? (this is of course only my own opinion, I dont like political music, but love JT)

thanks for posting this, at my dad's funeral, I picked Tank Park Salute by Billy Bragg and my brother picked You can close your eyes by James Taylor.

love it.

To give you an idea, I've never heard of Bill Bragg before this interview, but I listened to a couple of his "hits" and I still think that any song from "October Road" or "Flag" is better than the songs I listened to prior to writing this comment. P.S. none of Bragg's stuff can hold a candle up to "Sweet Baby James"

Let popularity show who is the best in this case, James Taylor, not only being a national treasure, makes music that appeals to a higher level than politics. Politics are so chaotic, and people may disagree with me due to their drive to be right, but the fact remains that James Taylor is known by billions, and he has probably changed the lives of countless millions more than Bill Bragg

Nobody disses JT like that! He changed MY life! He has real meanings to his songs too! God your the one who's not open minded! Listen to fire and rain.

King Solomon is reported to have said......"Like somebody who takes a passing dog by the ears is one who meddles in the quarrel of another."
My purpose in putting up this video to allow others to listen to James answer questions put to him by Billy Bragg about James Taylor's Musical career (not political views). It is simply a piece of vintage JT Memorabilia.
It is sad that it appears to have turned into a meaningless debate over the merits of one persons political viewpoint against another.
