@plunky123 Yep....You are correct. No doubt a stelling sound coming from it. I had a bellflower a few years back and sounded very similar to this. Nothing like his granada...or his rb3...But still a good banjo.

Oh my God! I've been looking for this song for 31 years! I'm not kidding; I had the words of the chorus stuck in my head and wasn't smart enough to know the TITLE of the song! Feel like an idiot but thrilled I found the song! Thank you so much for posting this!

It really amazes me how good Sonny Osborne was at strumming that banjo.

indeed, although Stellings sound fantastic in their own way, they sound pretty distinct from a Pre-war or Pre-war style "Masterclone" such as a Huber/Yates...etc.
For those who aren't sure what the prewar sound is, listen to that banjo and you'll understand. :o)

If he was playing his Gibson I would agree with you.
If you look close you will see that it is a Stelling banjo and not his Gibson Granada. :)
It's actually a Stelling Sonflower (not Sunflower) that was endorsed by Sonny in the early 80's and only 24 was made before they stoped making them.

Yes it is, had to contact one of the "old timers" in the swedish bluegrass scene and he confirmed that it is Paul.
The concert was in February or March 1980.
