Here's the strategy for one of the hardest battles, if not the hardest battle for this whole Backyard Arena. There are many different ways to do this, but I'll give you my strategy and I hope it helps some of you.

-----

Battle: Master Ring User
Class: Super Heavy
Enemies: Veteran Soldier, Subel the Hound
Conditions: No items, skills, or spells allowed, Kaim required, defeat Veteran Soldier (2 Stars)
Secret Condition: Defeat Subel the Hound first (3 Stars)

3 Star Strategy:

- You only have the attack/defend option here, so prepare ahead of time! Use your best weapons, rings, and accessories. Fill your immortals skill slots with skills such as: Absorb Attack, Persistance, Attack Boost, Defense Boost, Ailement Resistance, Shield, Barricadus, Complete Defense, Crisis Attack/Defense Boost, Guard Heal, etc. Absorb Attack and Persistance at the very least will save your ass.

- To get three stars, you must defeat the Master's dog first. Put on any ring that will give Toxin lv. 3 effect, and get a perfect on Subel the Hound. The dog will die within 4 turns.

- While you wait for the hound to die, avoid getting off too many attacks off. Defend with a few members, and use one member to try and keep getting commands right. If you get the command wrong, Subel takes off a whopping 15,000 damage. Not pretty. If you don't attack at all, he's going to sick the dog on you anyways.

- If you get enough successful commands, the Ring Master will forfeit and you win the match regardless of how much HP him and Subel have left. This will make it so you'll win the battle with 2 stars, but not get the secret condition.

- If you're unsuccessful too many times, the Ring Master will use Annihilation to wipe out your entire party before you have the chance to finish the battle. You need to balance the commands correctly so you don't get too many wrong, but you also don't get too many correct.

- Try to damage the Ring Master as much as you can before Subel dies so you can get a head start. As soon as Subel bites the dust, the Ring Master really ups the anti. He'll use Coverus, Shieldus, Powerus, Healus, and Speedus as buffs/healing. Additionally, he'll use Prismus, Fear, and his regular physical attacks to hurt your party.

- At this point, you won't have to worry about him commanding you to hit certain rings. You will just have to give him everything you've got! You won't be able to poison him or anything, so switch rings. Rings that will allow you to absorb HP are a huge help, and any additional damage perks will help you along as well.

- At this point, it's a matter of luck. Seth and Kaim (and other immortals) may be able to absorb attack/magic.. and that's what you're really counting on to save your ass. Persistance will also let you hang in for one time, and hopefully you can gain some HP back for the next turn. Once mortals are gone, they're gone for good. Immortals will be revived in 2 turns automatically.

- Every time you attack him, he will counter.. so keep in mind that it will feel that he's getting several turns because of this.

- Once he's low on HP he'll start to use Healus on himself, so use this to your advantage, because he'll waste his turns. Other then that, he doesn't have a specific pattern.

  • @RUNEIS4GEEKS

I'm glad i read this comment because this was actually rather easy compared to how ch0colatemilk did it, although i do have immortals at 90

  • You actually don't have to kill the guy. I managed to get the dog killed and finish my 10 commands before his turn following the dog dying. 3 stars.

  • Ok, done! I used Kaim, Seth, Sarah, Ming and Sed.

I put Sarah and Ming in the front (with full def skills and accessories) Defending ALL THROUGHOUT the battle (the two times the knight got to attack them they guarded him so NONE HP lost in the front row - which mean around 400 in the back when he counters on Kaim, Seth and Sed).

I attacked the dog first with Sed eq with a Toxic lvl 3 ring and then focused on the Soldier put 50/50% on what kind of hit he wanted to and what I wanted.

    ??: msg me.

  • Gaaah! I hate this guy. I were sooo close, he was healing and I only had Kaim and Seth with low HP. When he finished them off I thought that it must be something I where missing but.. well, now when I've found ur vid I feel strengthen. Let's Play (again)! :)

Anyways, awesome vids ch0klatemilk. Ur the best!

  • I used Sarah and Ming and didnt worry about who the mortal was. Make sure they have absorb attack and magic defenses/absorbs, even weapon guard. Kaim was lvl 83 but Seth was just 68. Make sure sar/ming are around 70. Only issue you might have is when the guy is low and Seth hits him first when his coverus has ran out. In this case time it so you use Kaim when the coverus is down and have Seth defend. Done it first shot

  • Wow, damn hard battle, finally managed to get three stars. Thanks for the video!

  • nicely done walkthrough, absorb attack never works for me but i did manage to beat this dude. oh n 4 everyone else...u can wail on him to about 21000 hp without him splitting if his pooch is alive.
