A great example of Vancouver pop / rock music from the late 60's. The song was written by Harry Nilsson and arranged by Leon Russell

  • @666thehawk It also took me about the same number of years to find this gem. I found it a few years ago on a CD compilation entitled Lost 45s,From The Vault. The song takes me back to my early teen years, when I had my first girlfriend, a doll named Sandy who, with her family, visited my neighbor's family for the summer of 1968. When the summer ended, she returned to her hometown thousands of miles away. I haven't seen her since. But I never forgot her. Or this song.

  • This song was played on Melbourne (Australian) radio channels for about a week, then dropped off the playlist. I was never able to find the record in shops. It took me 40 years to re-discover 1941. Love the song!

  • Holy Jesus, I haven't heard this song in ... ages! Love it!!

He really did some interesting/unusual songs; and Nilsson wrote some interesting/unusual songs.

    Thank god for music. =D

  • @cementhedpaul2008 I have mine too. Wouldnt part with it or any of the other 2500+

  • i still have the 45 of this!! like his version better than Nilssons actually

  • Watching these Vid's sure make a guy go back in time! We have a friend up at a lake where we live by the same nameT. Northcott, I never even thought to ask if it was the one and only. Well, it is! Hope to hear him sing around the fire one day, he's retired and doing real good! Some great music came from the late 60's, and 70's, and Tom was part of it, it's a pleasure to know him!

  • @capnvideo2006

Yes, kept his boat at the same wharf as my fathers. My dad was always surprised to see Tom working on his boat grinding fibreglass, especially after being a well known.

  • I recall Northcott also did some commercial fishing

  • @IAmOneCrazyDiamond1

SEVENTY THREE CEE KAY ELL GEEEE.

    I remember it well

  • I went to high school with this guy. He quit the music business and went back to school, now a lawyer.
