Davenport police cruiser crashing into pole

This video, released after a Freedom of Information Act request from the Quad-City Times, is from police officer Doug Scroggins' vehicle. Scroggins and fellow officer Shawn Sullivan were responding to a call of a man with a gun when Sullivan crashed head-on into a pole on the southeast corner of Locust and Gaines.

Wow everybody, there are two cops responding code 3 (lights and siren) to a "man with a gun" call. Obviously, they were in a hurry so when the leading unit slowed for the right turn, the other cop en-route to the scene with him didn't notice and failed to react in time. It's just an accident, shit happens in police work. Im amazed at the amount of idiots that talk shit about police when they get caught on camera, when the truth is that civilians don't get caught doing even dumber shit off camera

Yeah I may do some stupid stuff behind the wheel but in this case, that cop behind just wasn't payin attention for the good way or he done just wanted to get into the lead. Either way it's kinda his own fault he ended up into a pole, he got cockey with the pedal or caught up on the radio or computer didn't have enough time to react and sideswiped the one in the right losing it into a pole. Some a the shit in the cruisers nowdays is no better than texting & driving...

@BloodSeeker117 right like theres all these crazy drivers and petty thieves that are so dangeruos and threaten the lives of every officer out there, really how many PIGS do you know that have there lives truly in danger every day, and by the way they chose the profession its not like were drafted into it and thrown into enemy lines. Obviously you dont know very many because the majority abuse and harass instead of protect and serve the people. U gotta remember, somebody is writing there checks
