  • It's kind of sad that a better film maker needs the name of lesser films makers in order to get more people to watch his movie.

  • 0:43 the most beautiful shot in this masterpiece.

  • @UridonTheMaster But they suck. So do you. You suck lots of cocks.

Having watched both, To me this is superior to Ran, Ran's Shakesperian narrative is interesting, but Kagemusha is deeper and more complex then the usual family betrayal story. Ran is more direct in an almost greek tragedy sense, while Kagemusha begs revisiting to search details you might have missed earlier. I think people confuse Kagemusha's lack of intensity (compared to Ran) to a more insipid film, but IMHO i think the reverse is actually the truth, it requires a different mood.

  • There are few movies of the Age of Civil Wars even in Japan.

It is because money is applied too much.

This movie is helped by important figure film directors, such as Spielberg, and can be made.

Also although Kurosawa calls it a famous manager how much, Hollywood is lost in the funding ability of a Japanese movie company.

  • Reading the comments and having watched ran (and enjoyed it)

Whats wrong with this film? Ive seen here that people say that you should stick to watching Ran and ignore this. Well im interested in watching, anything wrong with this?
