the fire was closer to smithville than bastrop

my parents live up cottletown on the other side of where the fire started. it was my dads birthday that day and i was bringing a ice cream cake to him when i came up on the road closures. it was really scary. everything was fine but my parents had to be evacuated.

Prayers go out to all that suffered loss in this fire. I'm lucky enough to live a few miles north of where the fire was / is. I can't imagine having to start over from scratch from something like this. Good luck & God bless.
