Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 are exactly the same. Exodus 34 explains how God commands Moses to chisel the commandments into the stone tablets. she says that there are different versions of the ten commandments but the commandments never change.

@jimmmmybrady The way they figure out that the moon was moving away from the earth was by measuring the thickness of tidal deposits preserved in rocks that are 900 million years old. By comparing it to newer readings they establish the 4cm rate. If god is how the bible says he is then hes got mayor issues . But if god created the universe then I am sure he would understand why some people have a hard time believing ancient fairy tales that fail to give him the credit he deserves.

@jimmmmybrady OK, but what does that have to do with evolution? I don't have blind faith in it. I have studied Geology and Biology and Astronomy and have a degree in Chemistry. I have looked at the fossils and the fact that we are Primates. I have studied Natural Selection and watched animals fill their nitch in the wild. In other words, the process of evolution is a fact. There is a Theory of Evolution that shows how it works.

@jimmmmybrady EVERYONE thought the world was flat and the center of the solar system. Galileo proved the bible wrong when he showed the moons of Jupiter to the church, they put him under house arrest.

The moon and the earth orbit each other. If the moon orbit doubled back on itself it would fall into the sun. So even if the moon was really close to the earth nothing would happen. And double check your math.

@gregrutz Whew,you are really ignorant.The Bible in fact states that the Earth is a circle.Even when the "populist theory of that time was a FLAT EARTH,people who believed knew it wasn't.....AND the Earth CAN't be millions of yrs.old.I guess you're ALSO ignorant of the FACT that the Moon is moving away from the Earth at a rate of 4cm.per year.....SO,going backwards the Earth wouldn't have been able to maintain its orbit OR sustain life.
