President Richard Nixon talks with his then-National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger about Israeli leader David Ben-Gurion, the recent presidential election, and, foremost, trouble in the negotiations to end the Vietnam War. Before the election, Nixon and Kissinger had believed that the negotiations were all but settled. In this conversation, Kissinger tells Nixon that South Vietnamese President Thieu is protesting parts of the agreement. (Some of the conversation was beeped out by NARA censors as "personal" or "national security.")

"He didn't put that way I did."...what?? He's telling Kissinger he received a letter from Ben Gurion and telling what was in it. Then says "I said this he didn't".. Politics amazing.

Well, the impression I get is that he was paraphrasing what Ben Gurion wrote and wanted Kissinger to understand that that wasn't a direct quote. I would imagine Ben Gurion wrote something with that general message.
