See how Mao Asada does her awesome triple axel in slow motion. Some have said that Mao has the finest triple axels of any skater. Mao is also the first and only woman to have landed two triple axel jumps in the same program at an ISU competition.

  • @Atlantis828 its mostly the differences between take offs and landings.

  • I've been trying to figure out what's the difference between a triple axel and a triple lutz and a bunch of other triple stuff. Maybe it's because of my eyes or something, I don't know, they all look the same to me. Can somebody please explain the differences to me? Really appreciate it!

  • Oh not this one

  • Every skater should watch this!!!

  • Only someone who could be more knowledgeable about the subject of triple axels would dare to demonstrate the lack of presentation skills by ignoring the misspelling of this video's title.

  • i prefer the european skaters they tend to skate more beautifully

  • @paufigureskating she is an amazing skater, i saw her live at skate canada international 2011 and she had two solid, clean performences ! :) shes one to watch at the 2014 olympics!

  • check out Elizaveta Tuktamisheva triple axel shes only 14 and her axel is soooo beautiful

What's annoying with figure skating is that it's hard to tell a person rollin down on the floor "beautifully" and someone challening for back-flip. When I started to watch figure skating back year 2004ish, i honestly could not tell the different between "a skate" and someone "performing a step sequence." Yes, step sequence has improved a lot through these yrs but i doubt that not even a 5% of an audience can tell the difference bw level 2 and level 4 step sequence.

  • This is the only sport I can think of where people criticize the top skaters in the world. You would have to be an amazing skater to come in 12th at worlds yet people criticize the skaters that com in second.

There are less than ten female skaters that have performed a triple axel in competition. Mao is the ONLY female skater to ever land two in one perfomance in competition.
