  • which input is best for active pickups?

  • @rockstarr469 The low gain input. Although I find the JSX sounds better with passive pickups.

  • Did you test out various speakers with the JSX head and then decide on V30's or did you just get V30's anyway, I bought a JSX yesterday and am wondering what speakers to get with it :P

    Nice playing!

  • @creation23 , thanks, I've played it through lots of different speakers but can't remember which was first. The Mesa cab suits this amp best.

  • They're Svetlana EL34's

  • I use the LG input for a combination of reasons. I like to run the master volume really high (8/10) and I also have the presence almost maxed. Using the LG input keeps the tone relatively smooth without any harshness or treble spikes. I also have the effects loop on always with the send and return at 6/10. This adds some output and clarity too. I used to use the HG input for years with this amp, but recently switched to the LG.

  • @fixxxer602 you Won't Be Dissapointed At all ...i Have the Peavey Ultra Plus 120 Head and it Has 4X 12X7A Pre amp Tubes And 4X 6L6's in Mine And it is a Tone Monster!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SUPERFLANKER1982 I also want to put 6L6 tubes in mine.. this amp tech in my area says that JSX sounds best with 6L6 since the JSX has a lot of preamp gain to it..

  • @SUPERFLANKER1982 Hey I also have a JSX.. I also use the low gain input.. I do this so I can crank the channel volume more and drive the preamp section more ... difference between the lowgain and higain is 6db variance I think..

  • @Van020280 thanks dude other question your tubes are EL34 or 6L6 i want to change mine for 6L6 gc electro harmonix
