hey, i have a question: is the halter just a BIT too small? it looks mighty tense, the halter. may just be my eyes though.

@bluemoondiadochi It is snug, but also his hair is long and goes over the halter. He has gotten his halter off when it was more loose. That's why I want to get his nose pierced, because at this point, he is still not trained enough for me to control him without the halter. He is a bull whose testicals did not drop, so once in a while (like when the cows are in heat) he misbehaves badly and the halter is my insurance to control him at such dangerous times.

@PitambarTheRedBull yea nose piercing is a great idea, i'd reccomend it!

esp. in your situation (having a BULL), plus it'll come in handy when you teach him to drive. just don't cajole him atround the entire time when training him, rope is for turning and breaking, tapping with a goad or whip is for giving gas!

i'd reccomend castrating him as soon as possible, many people don't hold even breeding bulls past age three.

@PitambarTheRedBull vets usually know, esp. those working with cattle. i don't know the finer points, but it's about giving him some sedatives to knock him down, securing the head so it doesn't move, covering his eyes, and piercing the nose with special tool, or sharpened stick. after that insert a rope (via a wooden "needle") previously dipped in antiseptic.
