I honestly think it should of played out like this, Vegeta's speech was too awesome for such a shitty outcome for his vengeance:

Gohan was stronger, but not SSJ2, and he could at least hold his own against Cell and look like he was winning. Cell, however, would wear him down, and then kill Trunks. Vegeta would sit there watching, give this speech, wonder why he couldn't stop Cell with his own power. Then this rage coupled with his son's death would ascend him to SSJ2 and he'd demolish Cell.

Honestly, this clip is BS. Saiyan prince, Years of constant battle and experience, he also loved his son. And youre gonna tell me he cant even get near ssj2? GTFO. He should have EASILY surpassed Gohan(who is only half Saiyan).
