@mams14 I don't think that's true for autism in general. SOME children have sensitivities or allergies to certain foods, and that's just children in general. If you have a child who can't express discomfort verbally, they will express it non-verbally. Especially young children.

THIS is how we TREAT autism. Congrats to them, Noah will grow up to be a really neat guy.

Autistic children have special diet, they can´t eat certain kind of food that contain caseine or glutten,that means: no pasta, no brad, no milk or any product from it. They must substitute wheat flour for corn and rice flour, no butter, no yogourt, no cheese, etc. Also sugar is prohibited, edulcorants are recomended, no candies, cokes or drinks with sugar. It´s important to keep the diet, it will chage dramatically the behavior and health of these children.
If they are getting him to sit now for 20 minutes and he is succeeding, why change things now such as the cherry coke?

I would like to offer some advise to this family. Take the cherry coke away. Kids should not be drinking that, and especially an autistic kid should not be drinking that. Congratulations on your success.
