Gertrude has a beautiful voice but she is boring to watch. Moving around is what entertains the audience.

The camera work is phenomenal for a childrens theater, no to mention the set and cast

i am gertrude in my production and it is such a fun part!! you really have a great voice and good acting skills to get this part. Make sure that you have a good monlogue for ur audition to show off your acting skills. Also, pick a beautiful or fun song. i sang "Mr. Snow" from carousel and I nailed the audition. You dont have to be a great dancer, but i still am. Gertrude is such a fun role to play! Good luck! :D
