*****Update on Britt (9/27/09) From her mother: Yesterday Britt won 2009 Junior National championship in Peru. She won AA, floor, beam and bars. You know she just turned to 13 so it is kind of unexpected considering there are older gymnasts. So I was informed that she is the youngest junior national champion ever in Peru.
**Update on Britt (6/20) : Britt is trainning and she will be part of the Peruvian Senior team next september for represent Peru in the Bolivarian Games. She is learning a lot like a new junior. She broke her nose like a month ago. It was awful!!!! and she went to ER and after she has to be in the surgery room to be fixed a week after when the swalling stops.. It was making a dismount from the balance beam... (from Britt's mom)
** Update on Britt (12/25): 2 weeks ago Britt was trying to qualify to be an international junior elite. This meet was compulsories only, and Britt did qualify! She also won one of four medals of the meet for the best improvement. Britt will become and international junior elite if she does well in the optionals competition coming up in February. We definitely know Britt is past level 10, whether or not she can skip pre-elite and go straight to junior elite will be determined by how well she does in the optional meet. I will keep everyone posted and let you all know any updates. We wish Britt the best of luck!
-montage of my dear friend Britt Reusche. Britt is 12 years old. She began gymnastics at 5 and a half years old. She trains at Peninsula Gymnastics with Matt Hodges and Kelly Alliger. She was born in Lima, Peru on July 3th, 1996. She will try to qualify for Peru in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games that will be in Singapore. She doesn't have a favorite event. She likes them all. When she began gymnastics, there were 2 girls chosen for the Regatas Team. Britt wasn't chosen. Her coach said she wasn't made for gymnastics. Britt and her family accepted that, but Britt wanted to continue, so she changed to another coach. She began with another coach and one year after she arrived to the team, she beat those 2 girls that were chosen for the Regatas Team. She won the National Championship in her age group and after that she has continued working hard to be better and better.
* A big thank you to Britt and her family for sending me all the videos for this montage. It wouldnt have been possible without their dedication and persistence. Thank you so much! I had a great time making the video and Im honored I got to make it of Britt. She is an amazing gymnast with a bright future and I cannot wait to see how she improves. Have a very Merry Christmas!
There's an update on Britt in the description. Congrats Britt!
