well, i read the book in high school, and it was a bit hard to understand cause of the time period it's from, but watching this has made me admire charles dickens' talents as a writer.

long story short, she's getting married. I've known her for 17 years and I always kept my mouth shut. from this moment on until the day I die, I will not be afraid to live, I will not be afraid to say what I feel. I will not live in fear for risk of being hurt because not telling her that I love her, only to see her in the arms of someone else is more painful than anything I have ever felt in my life.

I agree, just seeing clips from this film made me realise just how much better the David Lean version of the film is. This film is a complete insult to Dickens.
