The Twilight Zone he mention was not a fake invasion. It was an alien visitation where we were told how petty and puny we were. As a result all the nations pulled together and worked out a world peace plan in only 24 hours. Much to our chagrin the aliens didn't want a peaceful world. They wanted a world of warriors that they could use to conquer the universe.

They blew us up because we were too peaceful. :-)
