you know, back then roids were legal. Mr. Park said that nowadays walking pharmacies like todays bodybuilders are a joke. Those who sell drugs to young bodybuilders should be locked away. Bodybuilding was an art and great. Now its all about vanity and stating to men that if your not pumping steroids and getting big women won't like you and make you feel like shit. Vice versa for women. what the hell happened to the true spirit of healthy weightlifting?
yes but who knows if mr. park felt the california pressure as a brit and went to tanning studios to give himself a tan.....tanning studios are banned by the cancer society even if legal in canada
@ronwelker8 You have to remember that Mr Park was an Englishman who emigrated to South Africa and perhaps wasn`t conversent with the issues concerning the effects of the Sun on fair skinned people....
he REALLY was as fantastic as you say he was....In the 1950's he bench pressed 500 lbs... -- a record not to be beaten until superman Ted Arcidi broke it in the 1980's with a record of 700 lbs.
Since steroids "make you grow", I find it believeable that tumor growth would be increased as well as muscle. However, statisticly, non-users at any given age have just as many of the same problems as users. Other possible causes include the free-radical production of a bodybuilder's 1/super-high caloric intake & 2/overtraining.
Him and steve reeves, the best.
